Bucks at #1

January 24, 2019

For some Milwaukee Bucks fans it may be impossible to imagine the success their beloved Bucks are having this year. The Bucks only have one NBA Finals Championship to their name and are enduring a 48 year drought. Yet after all the years of waiting, Bucks fans are finally rewarded for their loyalty. The Bucks are a likely favorite for the NBA Finals this year through about half of the season. Currently with a 32-12 record, Milwaukee stands alone as the first place team in the NBA, and have not lost consecutive games all year with star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the charge. Giannis is 9th in the NBA with 26.4 points per game, and 7th with 12.5 rebounds. Although a key factor, Giannis cannot take all of the credit for the team's accomplishments. There are plenty of supporting roles on the Bucks this season. At point guard Eric Bledsoe is averaging a impressive 15 points, four rebounds and five assists per game, Khris Middleton at 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. In addition to Middleton and Bledsoe, the Bucks acquired an essential piece in their starting lineup this season. Brook (Splash Mountain) Lopez agreed to a one year contract with the Bucks this past off season and the deal has resulted in favorable turn out for both sides. Lopez averages a critical 12 points per game.

Everything has come together this season for Milwaukee after hiring new Head Coach Mike Budenholzer. Budenholzer has been using his deep roster to his advantage, with the bench showing impressive totals throughout the season and contributing to the team's success just as much as the starting lineup.

Milwaukee has high hopes of finishing the season with the same energy and success they have started it with. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Coach Budenholzer look to lead their Bucks to just the second NBA Finals championship in franchise history. Milwaukee shows promise for the end of the season and many seasons to come with young superstar Antetokounmpo on their side.
