This country is less than a month away from one of the most important elections in American history.
United States President Donald Trump tested positive for Covid-19 and while many thought he would finally understand the severity of this virus, he has continued to downplay it. Earlier this year he said “it is what it is” when referencing the 200,000+ Americans that have died from this virus. Then, after being discharged from Walter Reed Hospital, he tweeted “don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life.” One thing the president has failed to take into consideration is that no one with mild symptoms goes to the hospital and gets great quantities of experimental drugs. Most Americans only go to the hospital as their last chance of survival, and out of all the people who are put on a ventilator, only 20% come off. All of this is to say that this election isn’t about Democrats and Republicans, it’s about the American lives we’ll be losing if we continue to support our president.
Every single vote counts. Wisconsin is a state that can make or break the results of the election. Whichever candidate receives the popular vote in Wisconsin will get our electoral votes. The polls have the candidates tied in electoral votes, with Wisconsin currently going to Trump. Wisconsin, though seemingly small, can make a big difference. Ayden Romer is the Democratic Party’s Coordinated campaign organizer for the La Follette District. She loves working within our La Follette community because “our selfless team of volunteers give hours a week to give to their meetings and this cause,” Romer said.
The population of 18 year olds by November 3rd in this school district is small, but every single vote matters in this election. If you have any questions regarding registering to vote or casting your ballot, reach out to lafollettevotes on Instagram or email@example.com
